i have 11 juvies in my BB tank..
- feed them 6 times a day..
- change the water everyday up to 25% of the tank.
- try to force them to eat NLS-Discus Pellets. (so far, i only see 6 of them eating, i don't know the others when im gone.. hope they eat too)
- temp is 28C
- cover the tank that they could not see someone in the room.. because, if they see someone in the room or pass their tank, they were all going crazy.. it's like a ball bouncing around.. i'm afraid that that might make them stress.

what else did i miss guys? please, give me advise.. i want to provide them with a perfect care.. thanks!

P.S.
I did post this message from the other boards, i just wanna have a quick and very helpful, and get some different ideas from the different breeders or keepers.. consider my english too.. :D

I think you're doing fine. Did you use black background on all three sides except the front? You could make the lighting subdued and add driftwoods for refuge.

sorry guys, i forgot to mention what fish i am talking about.. anyways, i am talking about Discus.. thanks!

i think you have the right idea but i think you're doing too much water changes cut it down to once a week just an opinion :D

Sounds good to me, any photos?

Mrquad is doing fine with daily. This is what I would do for juvenile discus especially when you are talking about 6 feedings a day. These fish require more attention than anything else.

thanks for the reply.. they need something to hide? i thought they'll be fine in a barebottom?

in my opinion i think thats taking out too much bacteria and also i may do more frequent water changes depending on tank size, just my opinion now calm down

Most of the bacteria colonize the filter media. I do not see the problem with daily water changes. I was merely stating out that weekly water changes is far from being appropriate when it comes to extraordinary feeding intervals especially involving juvenile discus.

Driftwoods are fine. They aren't necessary but could provide a refuge for the fish. Yes, the tank has to be barebottom. The main purpose for such action is to allow you to vacuum every wastes and food leftover that may be amissed thus fouling the water.
