Am I doing this right?

In my XP3 the bottom is filled with 20ppm and 30ppm filter pads, middle tray is filled with 1500 grams of biomax, and the top tray has micro filter sponges.

Ok I have run into more proplems. My filter keeps putting out micro bubbles. Any idea on what causes this. When I cleaned the filter, I had to re prime it, but I did it the same way I did as when u first set it up. It didn't do it then.

Could be from your intake I had a DIY sump that would do that but once I tapped a hole on the top so air could be released it stopped.

with XP's, the easiest way to prime (if you call plugging it in is priming) is to pre-fill the can with tank water in a sink or so before plugging in the top connector. no air, no shaking, no filling the top tube, etc. and it gives you another chance to exercise by carrying the full can.

The easiest way to prime any canister is with it empty. Put the hose from a shop vac on the outlet side and let it do the work.

Once an Xp is primed, unless you remove the plumbing, it will stay primed. Just refill and reinstall the aqua stop and plug it back in.

Most common place for micro bubbles to enter is from the cap on the intake not being completely tightened.

This is what I figured. After some trial and error, I got the micro bubbles to stop. Thanks for all of the help and advise everyone.
