yeah my Bristlenose and my Gold nugget get to about 7", as does the green phantom. The bristle nose is a epic pooper though. I think it's because hes nearly eaten all the white fuzzy mold of my spiderwood in a matter of a few days. He's doing a very good job right now. Hopefully the epic pooping stops when he runs out of the moldy junk to eat.
Here's a photo while I was cleaning all the poop out after he was in there for only 2 days.
The size of the tank is deceiving. It's only 60" long but 30" wide, so there is about 8-10" of space behind the woodwork.

Disturbing the sand a bit while you do water changes can prevent the release of toxic and noxious bubbles of nitrogen from fish waste that may form over time but your aquarium already looks so clean and beautiful, you don't really need to worry about such a minute detail...
It you're in Cali, make sure that beaut' is strapped/fastened to the wall in case of an earthquake...I'd invest in a power generator too!!!
Great aquascaping, you could work for the aquarium in Atlanta, its that good!!!

If you invested in a dimmer switch, I think your aquarium would look even more expensive and world class...the circadian rythm of the fish would also probably benefit from such efforts to recreate nature...if I were you I'd do it...might as well...after you put in such effort into making such a spectacular display tank!!!

the decor is brackish environment...looks like an estuary...where salt and water combine but im sure lake Malawi has areas like that...

maybe you should archer fish it up...leave the water line a little low and have a National Geographic recreation at home...I'm sure it'll get you laid
