I drain outside into my yard, through a large vinyl hose and a diy pvc hanger. Then for refill I have my garden hose adapted to a barb fitting that simply plugs into the end of that same vinyl hose. Drastically speeds up the process of water changes. If I'm doing a really large water change and temp is a concern I'll slowly add a bucket of hot water into the cold outflow balance it out. But now I usually just stick with 30% water changes so my temps dont drop too much and let the heaters bring it back up.
