In a past thread i posted about how i bought a mayan that turned out to be a female festae. Well as much as i would like to keep the festae i cant she almost killed my venny pike who is now in a 20 gallon i set up for him. She just dosnt want tankmates. I posted her but no bites that were close enough and i dont wanna ship her. She still hasnt gotten her true colors back so i priced her low too. I worked out a trade with someone tho. I will be getting a 5-6 inch female jag for my male and $15. Remember I payed $10 for this mislabled fish. I figure I'm coming out of the trade pretty good since my pike wont be killed buy her?? Whatcha think

If the Jag pair are in the same tank with your other fish, you could still have problems. Jags are territorial and a breeding pair will not usually tolerate any other fish near their domain or fry. Is this still in your 75 gallon? If everything will be housed in a larger tank you will have better results. The trade is good if you end up with something that you want. But it's no guarantee that you will have a tank without aggression if a breeding pair of Jags are in it.
its still the 75. Wedding is only 2 months away then i will be getting a bigger place and the 150 will be going up... I was going to try and work out a trade with another fish but most of his fish are on the bigger side which i dont want since i ony have the 75 right now.
I'm surprised the pike can't hold it's own against the Festae. The ones I've had, and have now, have been quite formidable. What's the size difference?
no the trade will be for a breeding female and a lil cash. The pike is bigger then the festae but just cant handle the festae. Posted on craigslist for $50 and no takers
