Hey guys,
New on this board, but have been fishkeeping for 20+ years.

A couple of years ago I put a dozen or so Comets in as feeders for my ~10" Oscar and he did not eat 7 of them. They stayed in that tank long enough for them to get about 4" long.
He never bothered them, I was amazed to say the least. Anyhow my suggestion is get a small Oscar, and see what happens. If he cannot get them in his mouth he can't eat them, but he may pick at them, but if you keep an eye on things you can pull him back out if need be. It's funny how much fish are like people, you never know if they will be mean or not.

Good luck.
Chuck

BTW of all the different types of fish these days, my wife has a 70g that has all goldfish in it.

Fish are fish If you like them keep em and don't let the oscars eat them! :D
I wont judje you for it!

nope. nothing wrong with likeing gold fish... if your a 12 year old girl. j/k

I say get a toothy monster fish and watch him gobble them up. To be fair, I have neon tetras so I like the small fish too. If you want to get goldfish to keep with Oscars, get some Koi. They rock.

I used a dozen feeder goldfish to cycle my 1000 gal pond, and about half of them survived the first week. Now, believe it or not, I have grown quite fond of the little guys. I mean, come on, they nibble at my fingers, and they're getting so big...

I want to put my two oscars in there, and of course they will eat them up. Should I be locked up for getting attached to a bunch of 25 cent silly feeder goldfish???

:screwy:
Been there and done that. Kept the gold fish.
