I got 3 things I use when treating my fish water.

1. Top Fin Water Conditioner
2. API Stress Coat
3. API Stress Zyme

I used to use this green bottle of DeChlor for treating the bad stuff in water, and alsways used stress coat for helping the fish with stress and protecting their health.

I got the Stress Zyme recently because it was given to me and it even says it contains live bacteria to help with bioligoical filtration. All 3 bottles state that they are water conditioners and remove chlorine, metals and other junk from the water. I was told to use all 3, but I dont know if I am overdoing it. Would stress cot be alright by itself? I mean, it states it treats the water just like the Top Fin stuff I have. I am just a bit worried that when using all this I am overdoing it and adding mroe chemicals than necessary, and maybe hurting the fish. Whats your take on all this? What do you guys use?

Yes you are overdoing it and wasting money. You really just want to remove the chlorine, chloramine, any dissolved metals and other junk. Go ahead finish off what you have and then switch to Prime...just follow the directions on the bottle. That will be all you need.

I use Seachem Prime aswell, best stuff ive ever used, wouldnt use anything else.
I also use a product called Nitrivec by a company called Sera after my water changes to increase the beneficial bacteria.

Prime here too.

I use stress coat to remove chlorine. Works fine for me. I d just use that.

I agree. I'm not sure about the top fin stuff, it probably does that same thing as stress coat.

isn't stress-zyme used in conditioning new (cycling) tanks?

I use Kordon Amquel + (probably about the same thing as prime).

it removes Chlorine, Chloramine, Ammonia, nitrite, and reduces nitrate. I also use salt with every few water changes.
