State of chaos
With the recent discovery that PS is alive, I now have 6 Mountain White Clouds in a 5.5 gallon tank. Am I overstocked? If I was, I would have to upgrade to a 10 gallon tank. But my Mom is worried that my dresser can't support a 5g plus a 10g. I think it can, as I've leaned on it :screwy:
So:
Am I overstocked?
Do you think my wooden dresser can support it?

What is your filtration? water changes and such...

But with the right filtration i think your ok, but the ten would be better

And i believe a dresser can hold a 10 gallon.

Its a hanging box canister...
and I do weekly WC.

I'd say a little bit. 10 gal would be better. I have a 10 gal on a little table and the table doesnt lok too strong but it holds the 10 gal good. Whats your dresser made out of, like what kinda wood. And is it wobbly at all or still solid and tight?

personally I would go with the 10G as long as your dressers solid wood not particle board I odubt there would be an issue. if the dressers wobbly though it should be strurdied up. I don't trust particle board as it gets wet it warps and loses it strenght rapidly then

i have a 10g on a my dresser and a 5g on my night stand...stury ones shoudl hold. i would say with good filtration and water changes r not over stocked.

I'm siding with your mother on this one. 15.5g water weighs just under 130 lbs. Figure in the weight of the substrate and any other equipment and you're easily 150 lbs. It doesn't matter that you can lean on the dresser- the tanks won't be leaning on the dresser. When you can stand on the dresser for a prolonged period of time, there may be some validity to your argument. Their house, their rules. Besides, you can't pay for water damage if your mother is right.

build a little table.
