Quick questions for the experts out there.

I'm current running a 120g at 80% full with 2 Canister filters.

1xEheim 2026 - 1tray ceramic rings, 1 tray substrate pro
1xEheim 2028 - 1tray ceramic rings, 2 tray biohome

Currently in the tank are the following:

12 x CL avg 3.5'
2 x BGK 3.5'
1 x indo dat 5'
1 x pleco 2.5'
4 x tiger barb 1.5'

Am I overstocked? Water para still quite unstable as its only been 2 weeks old.

Any suggestions/advice?

Thanks in advance!

Not over stocked, but overambitious. Two weeks is a little premature to be adding that many fish. The BB has not have enough time to balance out the bio-load.

suggestions/advice - Fill the tank to the top. Why only 80%?
No more fish til parms. read 0

Did you jump start the tank w/water and BB from another tank?

Thanks for the reply.

Only filled it to 80% cos the bracing is not at the top of the tank and is like 3cm from the top edge. So I can't fill it up full :(

I did use water and gravel from another tank but that was only a small % of the water volume in the new tank. Gave is a good dose of bottled BB (not sure how effective that is).

Holding out on adding anything extra until the tank parameters are a lot more stable.

Any other advice or things I should do? Did add in half does of aquarium salt as the water reading for nitrites is rather high.

Thanks in advance.

Those ghosk knives will kill each other you know. The barbs will eventually become food for the datnoid.

Yeah, I've seen the dat eyeing the barbs and even taken a lunge at them (barbs currently too fast for him) and I think a little too big for him also at this point. I'm weening him off feeders so he's kinda hungry atm but he's slowly adjusting to eating MP.

If it gets bad, I can move the barbs into a 50g which i'm planning to get in the next few weeks.

So far, the 2 BGKs are 'fooling' around with each other but nothing serious yet. Hopefully it stays that way

Not overstocked, but not cycled either. Ammonia and nitrite levels need to be under .25ppm for your fishes sake. What is your nitrate level at?
