I currently have a 55 gallon with an XP3 and Penguin 200. The fish are 12 Demasoni, 7 yellow labs, 4 Acei, 1 male German Red Peacock, 2 bristlenose plecos, and 4 syno Petricola. Is this too much? I have a lot of Holey Rock in there and the aggression is not that bad. Everyone is about 2" or larger. Should I get rid of some? I like them all but don't want to have issues later.

No need to get rid of any...

Get another tank.:grinno:

I'd love to but I already have two other tanks that are growout tanks and my wife would kill me if I added another tank, no matter what size. It's going to be tough deciding who to get rid of (fish-wise, have to keep the wife). :)

It's going to be a tough decision, but when they are all full grown you will be seriously overstocked.

Just get the other tank. Wife will be pissed but it wont last forever and she will eventually get over it.
Or get an iron stand for the 55 gallon and use the bottom for more tanks. She cant say anything because it will take up the same space in the house as the 55 does now.

With the demasoni, I have to keep 12 or more due to conspecific aggression. I was thinking that I might replace the 12 with 4 Psuedotropheus Blue Dolphin (Giant Demasoni) since they look the same, are slightly bigger, and don't have the same conspecific aggression as the regular demasoni.

Will this work since getting another tank is out of the question? Anyone here ever keep them?
