Am i overstocked??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i kept a lima in a 75 gallon for a long time, it should be fine in the long run, and keep thinking about the future and college, you are in the same boat that i once was, your tank is over stocked, but feeding sparingly and doing water changes often...you are on the right track. As long as you keep up the work, your tank should be fine.... there is no right or wrong answer for this question, only opinions. Good luck with your tank, and do not let others discorage you in fish keeping and i think a car is more important then getting your dream fish tank, you will get it eventually, i know i did

Of course you are over stocked,
you need more tanks!
Then you will need more fish.
Then you will need more tanks
Then you will need more fish.
Then you will....etc.

LOL but the boy needs to think about his wheels, school, ect. Bigger tank can wait, nothing is forever.

Okay guys, I hate to do this, but I cleaned this thread. Please be civil and respectful. MFK is dedicated to provide a supportive atmosphere. Be constructive with your criticism and base your replies on facts, experience or simply give educated advice. We all want to enjoy this site and our hobby together.

90 gal is a decent size tank. The term "overstocked" is very subjective. Can you keep these fish in your tank for an extended period of time? Obviously, it's possible. Can they all develop their natural behavior and keep a low stress level? Probably not all of them. Sometimes, less is simply more. But that is a personal preference of mine.

The mere act of posting this question in our forum shows your concern about possible overstocking. There must be a reason for that concern. In the end, only you can call that shot. But the existence of this thread indicates that you may want to downsize a bit. Follow your gut feeling.
