just wanting some opinions on my 75 gallon planted tank, im not sure if it is overstocked or not, so here i go

school of 7 small zebra loaches
school of 6 black tetras
3 leopard bushfish
1 festivum

so , any opinions

You're understocked. Ctenopoma acutirostre get pretty big, but they're slow growers. I would double the amount of loaches and quadruple the amount of neons! Would also be cool if you could get a festivum of the opposite gender and get a pair... much cooler behavior in pairs, as with all cichlids.
Also, you didn't list your filtration... I assume everyone is as overfiltered as I am.

i love when people ask this question lol

ive got a 700 gallon tank with a neon tetra in it, i think im overstocked

buddy youve got plenty of room, but dont think that means you can go add a ton of fish now because there is a limit and goving over that limit can be a bad thing.

youve got small schooling fish in there as it is, so id build on those schools and add a few other species of small schooling fish in there aswell.
normally with schooling fish you can go well over the limit btw lol but that doesnt mean like 1,000 tetras in a 10g or anything. normally with schooling fish under 2'', id say 1 for every 1/2 gallon is good, with the correct filtration of course.

Id much rather see this then people coming on here wondering why they got a high ammonia and come to find out the got a 20 gallon with three oscars, 4 JD's and a RTC getting smart with everyone when they tell them they are way overstocked saying the fish are still small. To the OP just remember the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. You posting this thread asking if your understocked is just a sign that your a responsable fishkeeper so my hats off to you for that!

I shouldn't have over generalized this Cichlid statement... Some cichlids don't do well in pairs. A lot of SA and CA do well in them, but research each species. Some prefer harems. Some need big groups.

Sounds just about perfect to me! Like other said, you are not close to overstocking just yet. I take it the black tetras are black skirt tetras? You could add to that school a bit.

I was guessing black neons... Hmm.

Get more neons, they would love a larger school!
