Get more neons, they would love a larger school!

You really don't get to see the true natural schooling/shoaling behaviors of tetras until you get like at least a couple dozen. People say "you need at least 6" but that's really not enough.

Id much rather see this then people coming on here wondering why they got a high ammonia and come to find out the got a 20 gallon with three oscars, 4 JD's and a RTC getting smart with everyone when they tell them they are way overstocked saying the fish are still small. To the OP just remember the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. You posting this thread asking if your understocked is just a sign that your a responsable fishkeeper so my hats off to you for that!

cool, thanks everyone, i always get paranoid that i have too many fish in my tanks, just checking opinions, and yes there black skirt tetras, i got them becusae there very deep bodied and wont get eaten by the bushfish. and yes i do have it massivly filtered, canisters filled with biomedia at a turn over of about 11 times per hour. i was asking cause i just had to heat treat for ich, got some sick loaches. anyway i lost a pair of Betta Pugnax in the treatment but everything is fine and normal now, i think ill get some more tetras in the shcool, thanks

^ this.. I've always known the OP to be a responsible guy, nice job bro. I would bulk up on the neons to as many as you can. They make awesome schools.

ive had a school of 48 neons in a 35g before, really cool. but one hot summer day we lost power and the tank was still for 6 hours, and without moving water the temps rose to 86f, killing every last tetra. ive found that neons are the coolest, but most sensitive tetras out there.
