ive been cycling my tank with 2 tetras for almost 3 weeks now and im using cycle..when will i be able to add more fish? my ammonia is 1.3ppm nitrite and everything else is "safe" according to the chart.

P.S.

i didnt do any water changes because my lfs said not to and the water is crystal clear but can i just do a w/c and add more fish?

wait till ammonia and nitrites are zero, and some nitrates start to show up
nitrites are 0 nitrates are in the normal range..i just wanna add more fishhh it looks so dull with 2:irked:

do a water change say 25%, test the water a few hours later, record the results. test daily if ammonia results are fallin you should be good, if they are still goin up, or stayin the same wait

i hate playing the waiting game :cry:

I usually don't have any waiting to do becuase I just seed my filter pads in an existing aquarium for a couple weeks before the new tank is set up then put them in the new tank. This way it should go faster and you can slowly build up the bioload in the new tank.

You have ammonia but no nitrites. Your tank doesn't show any sign of cycling yet.

Soon, you should begin to see nitrites, then the ammonia will go down, then the nitrites will go down and you'll see more nitrates.

It's possible your tap water has nitrates in it straight from the tap.

Don't be overzealous about adding more fish too soon like I once did in the past. If you add fish before things are cycled your ammonia will go out of control and fish WILL die.

Yeah it sucks having only 2 fish, but just wait it out.
