And don't use a piece of acrylic with a glass tank. Silicone doesn't seal well to acrylic. Sounds like selling it as a reptile tank and getting a new to you tank is the best idea. Sorry bro hope it works out for you!

Hello; I put a glass panel patch on the end of a 20 gallon with a long crack. I wound up gobbing a lot of silicone around the edges of the patch. It eventually worked, but was ugly. Never patched a large tank like yours.
