Am i underfiltered?

My water is as clear as it can be. Its just that the driftwood is making it tea colored. Does that make it black water? Is my stock gonna be ok with it? My levels are perfect ammonia = 0, nitrites = 0, nitrates = 20-40? The color is kinda in the middle so im guessing thats where its at. My ph was 7.5 without the driftwood. I only checked ammonia, nitrites and nitrates ever since i added the DW. My eheim 2217 is mech and bio at the same time btw. I think my water is fine cause my fishes spawn too much. My angels paired up but not really expecting a spawn from them.

Sounds like semi-blackwater effect. I mean, blackwater usually implies a lot of tannins and also decomposing leaf material. So you're probably about half way there. And no, I don't expect it will stress any of your fish.

generally ,from what I know, tannis wont hurt your fish ...ps those api nitrate tests ARE hard to read ,and I think they tend to get innacurate when the bottles get low

The bottles are only a month old. Can anyone suggest a good brand for ammonia and the other stuff? I really like this half blackwater effect. Just wish my tanks grew algae. I leave my loghts on for 12 hours but to no avail. Is it the light im using? I have plants in there and theyre thriving.

the api tests are fine , I just noticed higher nitrate readings when those bottles got low, I did extra water changes ,just to be safe:)as far as algae ,it'll come ,unless you have REALLY low lighting ,try daylight bulbs for best effect, walmart sells em cheap

I take out 35g twice a week. I feed them twice a day. Heavy in the morning and really light night. Do you think i should take out more?

your probably fine ,but....you could reduce the feeding ,I know its hard to ignore all those begging fish ,but they'll be better off in the long run
