Convicts have such attitudes! How did you get that algea to grow? Awesome tank.

I agree convicts always seem to forget how small they are.

I personally hate the things... I had one (little guy!) in my 240 with many other CA's, and watching him Peck at the sides/fins of every single fish that stopped long enough to relax absolutely stressed me out. He'd of course run if confronted...

That Vieja is absolutely stunning... does he always look like that, or is he all pimped out for spawning?

The Synspilum is usually quite colorful. The reason for getting the Convicts was I was racking my brains to what could be kept with him, as he's so aggressive. So I thought Convicts or Neets.

:D The algae just grows like mad in my tanks... I've started to introduce snails which is starting to work.

I have a pair of siquia convicts (Rio Cabayo) in a tank that I am in the process of changing to South American from mixed community. I recently introduced some mid-sized pikes. The male pike challenged and lost to the male convict half his length! The convict actually locked lips with the pike, despite the con's diminutive mouth and the pike's large maw, and pushed the pike backward across the tank into a cave. The pike did not emerge for two days (probably from embarrassment!).

I am going to set up a Central American tank as well and move the siquia cons in there. I was considering a Vieja of some sort as a counter balance... but maybe that won't work!

Lol, it's as if you could see the Syn decide "Naw, I better lay low or those little ankle biters will get me..."

There's a video somewhere with convicts swimming around in a big tank with a 20" Rhom !!!
