Hello everybody, I just got some new pictures of my bigger tanks inhabitants and thought I'd share. I know this is the cichlid forum, but the picture of the Goby is pretty good so I thought I'd throw it in.

In the tank is a 11 inch Marbled Goby, a 12 inch Oscar and a tiny 3 - 4 inch common pleco

Here are the pictures :)

The Oscar:

(PS - excuse the pop cans in the background LOL)

The Marbled Goby giving me a "yawn" he has some nice teeth (and he's bitten me before, that was fun):

the tank setup (the Oscar has been digging like CRAZY! I always see it picking up gravel in it's mouth and then dumping it on the flatstone... I'm thinking it is a she :) ) :

Oscar feeding:

Thanks for looking! any comments regarding the Oscars digging behavior in particular would be appreciated!

i cannot tell you what gender but he or she looks nice and i like the marbled goby i was about to get one but decided to wait what do you feed the goby and how big is it?

Thanks! I love the O's colors, just insane. I had to pick him/her up!

But, the Goby is a real stubborn one and despite my best attempts will not take frozen foods. I had to feed him lot's of minnows, at one point a few gold fish because everything else was unavailable. I even tried a crayfish which mysteriously disappeared one night like all of the other small creatures that enter the tank. He's about 11 - 12 inches (when I measured him, I had to do things fast because he nipped me!) the picture of the measurement was blurry, 11 inches for sure.. 12 is debatable :)

He also lip locked with the Oscar one time. They both went after the same minnow near the flatstone and then got into a little bit of a squabble... and that Oscar is a TANK.. so that shows you how brave they can be lol.

If you get one make sure whatever you put in with it is as big as the Goby or bigger, something that is tough and can defend itself, and all will be well. Usually they give up if it cannot fit in their mouth. Good luck!

PS - I tried Pollock fillets, Tilapia, Smelt, various types of frozen shrimp, all over a 1 - 2 month period, and he had none of it. He certainly wasn't eating during that time. This one will be difficult to convert lol..
