I find this truly amazing that some civilian can buy a spitting cobra let alone any other hot snake
like I have no problem if the person has a permit and anti venom and all the requirments but seriously a spitting cobra
I saw a show and a guy got some in his eyes and he was screaming all the way to the hospital until he passed out from the pain
so yeah thats my 2 cents on keeping spitting cobras and buying them for only 125$

It wouldn't be the snakes fault if they felt threatened and they had an owner who didnt have the smarts to wear a shield and proper clothes when handling them.
People like that ruin it for those who want to keep these beautiful creatures.

I want one....I'll trade my saltie for one.

but that is exactly why they should be in some sort of system so that only experts can buy them

I know someone who lives about 3 miles from me who has a black mamba. There are tons of people that keep killer snakes i think it would be better to keep than a retic or a burmese just cos it has venom doesnt make it worse than a big constrictor that millions of people have.
I love snakes id love one.

^ Yes but many more people keep constrictors than HOTS. I'm sure if you compare the % of deaths from HOTS to Constrictors it's a little one sided. At least if you get bit by your constrictor you don't have to worry about dieing, lol! There really are too many idiots out there that can have access to these animals.

I agree in state of Florida think we have more licenses for venemous snakes than most states combined.

. Think a $100 to $200 will get you a license.

I dont mind that people keep them .My problem is how easy it is to get them here and how many wind up in neighbors garages or backyards.

Responcible adults with escape proof enclosures/rooms should have them not reckless "kids" who keep them in their screen patios .
