hello im in attempts of setting up an amazon tank and im not sure what fish are from the amazon i realize angels, oscars, pikes, rams are some cichlids but what else are there? and i need some dither fish too what schoolers are there other than cardinals and neons? i need some good hiders bc i have a cave system set up, any oddballs are very helpful too.

Lots of fish... A bunch of cichlids, a ton of catfish (corys, plecos, etc) some knifefish, tetras, hatchets, pencilfish, piranha, arowana, pacu, the list goes on and on...
Also realize the amazon is a huge river system, so it depends if you want to go for a specific area of it...

Most things under SA cichlids, corydoras, loricariids, most characins should be from the amazon. Also some oddballs, it depends on your definition of oddball. I would go with a rare SA knifefish personally.

Nearly all tetras are South American. There are a few exceptions, but not many. Raphael cat fish are Amazonian. How big a tank are we talking about here?
There are some odd varieties of pacu that don't get to be nearly as large as the common ones.
