amazon fish show on discovery

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's on again at 11:00 PM CDT.

I'm pretty sure those were thread finned acaras, A. Heckelli. They show this one all the time so alot of people must be watching it. Hopefully that means they make a new amazon special soon.

They show this one all the time coz they spent nearly $10million making it and have to get their money back somehow.
I thought that it was lame , very badly researched, and I was wishing they could get their egos out from in front of the cameras and talk less about their equipment ( breakdowns) and show more about the river and the fish.
Wasted opportunity imo.

that was my thoughts exactly i watched them last year on BBC when it first aired and was dissapointed

It was ok..... Better than watching paint dry.

they coulda had more footage uderwater.imo

I'll watch any show with fish, I thought the Knife was cool.

I agree, and would be even better if I got to saw one of these maneaters actually eat a man! lol

LOL
I watched it again and once again was struck by their striving to make it appear so dangerous, any rebreather diving, diving in current, or diving in restricted visibility is dangerous. They struch me as wussies and they needed a decent taxonomist along.
Fish shows that are not about fish irritate me.
For all the hype they were very light on content and did not ID the fish being shown very well at all, it also seems that everything including black ghost knives are "rare"lol. I did enjoy seeing flasheds of acaras, one geophagus and a pair of flag cichlids, also them feeding prochilodus to the dolphins and the otters eating some large brycon and what looked like a S. elongatus.
