Read online on a few different sites people have had success with swords on pool filter sand because it doesn't compact like fine sand.

How true is this and has anyone had experience with pfs and amazon swords?

I have kept amazon swords (bleheri, amazonicus, red flame hybrid) in PFS and never had any problems with them rooting, growing, and thriving over all. I did use root tabs, but that was the only level of supplement they ever had. Amazon swords in my experience have been relatively tough and easy to care for.

I've had success with them in PFS in the past. However, I currently have a tank with crushed granite and seems that I'm having a hard time with my Swords (or any plants) in that substrate, even putting fertilizer tabs in the substrate. There are only a couple of Swords that are surviving.

As long as I keep the crown above the substrate right?
