heres what happened, about 6-7 years ago i went into a lfs
and the were unpacking there shipment i seen this catfish i had to have
i paid a couple hundred for it,,his price list was about 180$. he said it would get huge and were only imported a handful at a time. Well i had it a few years and it grew to about 20ish inches.I suffred from a power outage and he died.Just a few details about him,he was jet black orange tiger stripes, and whiskers that literaly would stick out of the 75g he was in.
Lets fastforward to yesterday i seen a pic. of the marbled cat?,its very similiar but mine had a much diffrent dorsal fin,it resembled that of a redtail and its tail was dark red,Stunning.By chance do you guys think i may have had a hybrid or is there another cat resembleing my description. Thanks in advance

Could have been a hybrid, but its hard to picture. You should look through the catfish media section and if see a similar one.

Ever take any old pictures of your cat while you had it? Sounds a bit of a looker and has me interested. If it was wild caught then chances are it wasn't a hybrid. How vivid were the colours on it compared to the marbled pim/perruno and how close were the patterns on it to looking like them too? Only reaching 20inches in a few years suggests a smaller spieces of pim. Have you tried going to the pim section on planet catfish and looking at all the pictures there?
