Amazon tree boa?

A friend of mine has a GTP that is handable and don't mind you taking him out by hand and such.

Anyway... look into the Morelia complex since most of them, if not all, are pretty much arboreal/semi-arboreal.

Yep, Ive been into the morelia complex. I like the tree boas because they are pretty damn impressive, and not too many people have them. It would be great to handle a viridis but I cannot provide a large enclosure. The enclosures I have sitting empty are a 20 long, 20 high, and a 20 X-High.

I might go with a male ball python (upgrade to a 30g in a couple years), but I heave heard they arent too active. I was also looking into rosy boas.

I've seen handlable GTPs too. Most boas and pythons aren't too active (as well as being nocturnal). Colubrids are a much better snake to watch.

I have seen a few handlable GTP's too.. but mine scared the crap out of me sometimes..

A friend of mine has an orange phased one that's pretty mean. You approach his tank and he's already in strike mode. My friend won't handle him without gloves (duh).

You mean an ATB? Kind of a catch 22, you're best to handle starting young, but handling young is stressful for them...

I had one for about a month. He would snap at anything and everything. Never was able to get him to eat, and he was eventually killed by a mouse.

he was eventually killed by a mouse

Ah the perils of live feeding. I have a Tiger Ratsnake with a few battle scars from the time before he converted to whacked prey...Now if I have to feed live I use helpless baby rodents (does that make me sound like a monster?) :)

Do you think if I got a hatchling and handled him every day, that I could possibly tame one, or is it just in there genes to be mean?

you have to be careful handling the tree pythons or the tree boas, they have rediculously delicate spines as hatchlings, and should never be forced of perches. Where did you get your avatar pic from?
