Where did you get your avatar pic from?

Googled morelia viridis

Its a shame they arent more friendly... I would gladly pay the 200$ for a Friendly GTP.
I thought ATB's were more handleable because there are a bunch of Youtube videos of them being handled. Now that I think about it, there are some of GTP's too, but I dont think its the norm.

i had 2 that i handled regularly.gtps.you want lower light i think because they are so nocturnlal and i noticed when in brighter light the pupils would go down to nothing and they are relying more on pit sensing and your hand may be a bird.I used snake hook to get them out and you should be carefull not to pull too hard from the trees. They are great snakes,my trouble came from too low temps and misting them while too low. They would off feed and then when i raised the temps and misted a few times a day the feeding kicked into gear.Anyway by far better holders than atbs. They just look cocked and loaded all the time. The gtps can stare you down realy good and give ya a little scare but then they get curiouse of the surroundings.Mine were cool.I set them loose here in the canyon because i didnt have time anymore for them.Man can you imagine the flaming if that last sentence was true!lol.good luck.

Hey guys- How about a red tailed green rat snake? They looks GTP- esque and seem to be friendlier

I heard they're not the greatest on acclimating to captivity, what with parasites, finicky humidity needs, etc. Don't know much else on them or their personality, though I do think Ive read a few times that they're pretty highstrung.

Could be wrong (shrugs).

Don't give up yet. Perhaps try a boa from the Candoia genus. They're often called Solomon Island boas, Indo-Pacific boas, or simply Pacific boas. They're not green, but they are slender and arboreal. I used to have one. They can be sometimes nippy, but most tame down okay...much more so than ETBs, GTPs or ATBs.

Also, carpets are largely arboreal and while also a tad snippy, don't compare to the others.

I have a super friendly Spilotes Tiger ratsnake. He's arboreal. Plus he's got lil' colubrid teeth, although he's never bitten.

thats freakin awsome, give me more info on that guy and it dosnt come in all black does it?i guess that would look like a black pine snake, but how much and how big,you know the basics of yours.Awsome looking, kind of mean looking. You can pm me if you think the op will get mad.Maybe they would like to know too though.

I second trying a Cartet Python. Look into the Irian Jaya ones as they stay nice and small, can usually be tamed with handling and are nice looking to boot!
