Amazonian Monsters for POTM?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
man those are some killer silvers. your pics would have high chances in potm and totm

I think people are being overly generous TBH

i'm the one that took the pics, i need to shoot some more over at the pond get my lighting scheme better. the aros are hard because the face is somewhat concave and the light doesn't display their "cheek" area. i agree the pacu are my favorite as well as the one of josh holding the big silver taken from above.

Well, to be honest...
First off clean the glass/acrylic, spots do not make for a good pic...
Experiment with the lighting because there are tons of Aro pics that show color and detail...
Use a DSLR camera!;) (edit:Please don't tell me these are from a DSLR)
I've yet to see a "Point and Shoot" give the detail and color that a DSLR can.
and you'll need to shoot hundreds to get that "just right" picture...
As far as subject matter, winners all the way...IMO :headbang2

it should win POTM-Pond of the month not photo

i actually like this one more than the other pacus. the camera is a canon 50d with an off camera flash above the water. thanks for the pointers this was just the first 2 of the many shoots to come.
