american ali or caiman

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
what was it between spectacled and something...?
do they really have better tempraments? i think with crocs though, temprament is something you expect anyway. think id rather have a pure breed

Listen to Zoodiver, he knows his stuff. I would go with a dwarf or spectacled caiman because they stay small, feed mice and chicks and pinky/fuzzy rats because rats have more nutrition than mice. Like Zoodiver said, fast him atleast one day a week, but I would feed every other day. Temperment all depends on the animal and the keeper's dedication. Anyone remember Bubba? He was a great gator, really sweet. That is my in the mustang hoodie, back before I destroyed the car. RIP Bubba, and my mustang.

He's going for a dwarf caiman, when he can find one. We're going to be working on the large enclosure soon.
Thanks for all the advice guys I'll get some photos when everything is ready.

A mustang lover and a croc lover...my kind of guy!

I've posted pics of my old dwarf caiman set up somewhere. (As usual) I'm at work right now and don't have any on this computer.

I was wondering - since your in Florida.

Are planning for the set up for the camian to be indoors or outdoors?

Also I wouldn't be surprised if since you live in Florida - you may need a premit to keep a gator - since it's a native species.

I would also suggest checking to see if it's legal to keep a camian (some states have funny laws about exotic animals).

I know I've heard stories on the local news of camians being found in NC lakes, near the state capital(Raleigh). And I've have also heard of wild gators being found in our southeastern coastal waterways.
