how much are american alligaters
They are free and plentifull around here.

I had a caimen years ago but it would never eat. The guy that sold it to me didn't know what they ate so he told me to give it lunch meat. I even tried to force feed it, but it would always spit it out. Then years later (after it died) I learned that caimen eat fish! I also just learned that american aligators eat Florida women...(3 in the last 2 weeks in case you don't follow the news).

By the way...gators grow to over 13 feet. Several years ago, a 14ft 600 lb gator was pulled from a lake north of here. That is gonna take a lot of gator chow to feed.

here's mine, and that's me holding it. I got mine when it was 18 inches long, I fed it raw steak every 5 to 7 days, it depends on the size of the belly, when it would would thaw out some meat, and feed him again. I was bit 2 times on the hand and both drew blood. it was like being stuck with 3 needles at the same time. both times I was bit was during feeding, so I decided to go with tongs, and then was never bit.. one thing you all should know, everything I've read on alligators, they say they grow 1 foot a year, I got mine in oct. 18, in may the following year in was 33 inches long. it could've been from the feeding I was giving him, I don't know.

for pepole that do have alligators, make sure you keep the water temp over 80 degrees if you fed them red meat, their digestive systems can't digest the red meat under 80, it slows it down. remember their cold blooded, just like a lizard.. if you don't have the water temp high them feed the raw chicken breast. remember these animals love to eat, so if people out there are man I want one, it's going to cost you alot of money to feed it, espaecilly as it gets bigger..

last thing, if anyone is looking to get one or wants to purchase one, pm me, and I'll put up a site where you can get them..

here are some pics, not sure of the oder they will be in, but one is me holding crockyand the other 2 are from the alligator farm.. if you watch the news, the albino alligator is back, wish I could get one of those...

Remember that they are nest builders and will need lots of vegetation to build an incubation mound

You could contact the Alamosa Gator Farm in Colorado they breed them all the time and could prolly help you with that. From my understanding though you have to have a huge area with some sand beaches for the nest after the eggs are laid and you really cant disturb them. What type of set up do you have?
