American cichlids and bichir?

Ive seen some badass ones, lucky the ones i have is really nice and dosnt mess with anyone.

My bass and GT did try to eat my polys once. When i first put them in because they think everything that splashes in the water is food. But they stoped like 2cm away from the poly and just looked at him and swam away.
 
That's exactly what I've been told, either they're vicious or they're big pussy cats. I think I have the latter but I won't know until he matures. I'll keep you guys posted on the situation.
 
My Birchirs ignore any fish they cant readily swallow. I have a large Red Headed Cichlid (synspilum) in with them and they get along fine. Beblondies right- Birchirs are not really aggressive fish (unless your a Feeder). Mine get pushed around by my Pleco sometimes. Birchirs grow pretty fast if well fed and well kept.
