American eel vs Helgramite

How about that video?

I know... I owe ya. Got tied up with other stuff. One of my cats had a urinary block so I've been taking care of him. I now have a 4 thousand dollar house-cat. :) That could have been my 650g and all the goodies. Oh well... Anyway I will do my best to get a vid tonight. It's feeding time and it's awesome to watch him grab 4" smelt from my hand.

I tried to get a vid before with one of my GoPro H2's but even with the tank lights on full blast the vid was grainy. Going to try adding more light and see where I end up.

I would set up a tank to keep that bug it looks badass.

They are. They live 2-3 years as a bug like this... under large rocks and whatnot; eat all kinds of weird crap. Then, they crawl onto land and live under rocks for 3 weeks before molte. They come out as wicked Dobsonfly (Look the same, but airborne!), mate and die in 7 days. Really neat critters. Make killer smallmouth bait, food for a native tank, cruel joke on wife, you name it...

Around the rivers here in MD/WV. Late spring you can turn over rocks along the bank and grab them all day. They are not friendly though. Haha!

NO WAY! The american eels are endangered in Canada so we aren't allowed to catch them.
