I had bowfin twice, and both of them died mysteriously when they hit the 6-7" mark...

Awesome looking bowfin. I'm in the Erie pa area, and these guys are always fun to fish for. I've never seen how they look when not stressed out from being fished, and I want one now lol.

What's the max size on them? I've only heard the old timers around here talk about catching 3+ foot monsters in the late 80's.

Wanted to share this, my personal best bowfin, also my first one ever caught. For size reference, I wear a size 11 shoe.



Side note, about twenty seconds after I took the picture, he was back in the water.
