Cause if so-
I'm hookin my 580 up now.......If thats all I need to get pics like this----
If this is an external-Are you fireing from the cam or remotely from top of tank?

Yep, it's an external. I had it above the tank with a TTL cord for this shoot, but sometimes I'll bounce the flash off of the ceiling or other reflectors.
