If ammonia in your tap water tests at 4.0 ppm, then adding more bioload to the 125g is not the answer. I would contact your local water dept. Also would be a good idea to verify your test results with another test kit.

well i have a faily new API freshwater testkit all my other tanks are at 0 so i kinda trust it, I just dont cant figure out why amm went up after a wc and triple dose of prime

Sounds like your tapwater is the main issue. If the issues continue you may have to invest in an R/O unit.
You said your other tanks are 0, when is the last time you've done a water change? If it was very recently they should be showing ammonia too. Do you ever test right after doing water changes on them and have you noticed that nitrates don't drop much afterward? You may have been stressing your fish by doing water changes without even knowing it.

I agree, I would contact your water company immediately and try to figure out what's going on.

BTW, prime does not make your test kit read lower ammonia levels. It only detoxifies the ammonia (converts it to another safer form) and it will still read as being present on your kit.
