Ammonia is dropping.. do I proceed 5 day of water change still? i am going to stay out on Amquel for now.. it looks like its better off without it. I have Seachem testing read at normal, and jungle testing strip at 3.00 ppm as of last night..

I will do another test tonight when I get home. I try to feed my fish a little bit every day, but if i have to do water change every day, i only have 3 hrs total to do feeding and water change, is this bad for the fish?

Thanks

Sean

Yea!

Stay with 20% W/C's and it's ok to feed then do the W/C. Fish should only take 5-10 minutes to eat so give them a half hour and do the change. And keep testing.

I think i am recovering.. fish color looks better and more active...

Novaqua/ and cycle is what I will use from now.

I will get stress zyme and stress coat.

What am I gonna do with the 1 gallon of Amquel I have at home?

Dr. Joe

Do you think I am over stocking?

Glad to hear evertything is going well.

Amquel is ok for emergencies, but let's hope you don't have any more of them.

A gallon huh? Gotta think about that.

Yes you are a little over-stocked, but if you can keep your filter steady you will be ok for a while (until the smaller dats grow).

Thought much about a second tank?

Where are you located?

Keep up the good work.

I am from Los Angeles, CA area.

I do not have room for another tank for at least 1 - 2 years.. when I move, i will go monster on the tank

Do you reckon I should let go the 2 parrots + Red Severum + 2 araca?

I like to get a ray or bichir... but my tank is only 20" wide i think.

Keep your best favorites and trade the others in or make a new friend by giving them away. Maybe a school. Just make sure they are capable of taking care of them.

And hold off on the ray & bichir till that monster tank. They grow fast too.

Ok.. as of today

Seachem Ammonia reading: 0
Jungle Strip: 3.00 ppm
AquaPharm: 6.00 ppm

I have done 3 water changes every week.. and cut back the feeding.

All my fish looks very healthy and begs for food.

Water is clear, now I run on a w/d with 10 gallons of bioball and 1 rio 32hf.

Dont think I can trade or sell the cichlids.. wifey likes them very much.

And your probably are used to having the wifey around too huh?! :D

Oh well, Keep the prefilter clean of the the big garbage and raise the feeding in a week or so to what the fish will eat in about a minute. Watch for fin nipping.
