Another thing you can do is hold the water in a storage bin and put in your prime and an air stone and let the ammonia gas off.

I don't believe ammonia gasses off.

I have storage bins to pre-condition my tap water. My main concern is how long does the ammonia conversion to ammonium binding last. The storage bins have no BB, so I'm counting on the ammonium to stay bonded until I pump it into the tank.
