I would. IMO 2700 gallons per hour aren't touching enough of your media for long enough to denitrify. I just don't think that type of media packed densely in large quantity is the best approach.
Of course this is just my opinion and based on what I think I see in your pics.
BTW. I was running *maybe* 1000 GPH in the setup I described above.
