Whats wrong with well water?I do waterchanges with my well water on all my tanks.
If your friend is on a chlorinated public water supply and you didnt use dechlor the waterchange killed your biofilter and the resulting ammonia is killing your fish

Sounds like it. TEST your water ASAP to find the problem. It is the only way to pinpoint what's up.

I have well water at my house. I have to go get water from friends and yesterday i cleaned my tank and put in new water. This morning i woke up and turned on there light and the water is coudy like it's full of ammonia. I've never had to deal with this before. One of my fish is dead already and i'm about to loose another. Is there anything i can do?

Is it fair to say that because you have to get water from your friends house that you do water changes infrequently?

When you do a water change(since your tank is 10 gal) in this tank do you change a large percentage of the water?

What I'm getting at is that you may have caused the pH in the tank to vary considerably. My guess is that it may be a point or two higher than it was before you changed it. This can cause a wild swing in the type of ammonia in your tank favouring the more toxic form. Also if the above is true, then your beneficial bacteria population will experience a shock and those varieties of bugs that favour basic form ammonia will bloom. This would explain the cloudiness and the loss of sensitive fish.

To fix the problem I would sugest increasing aeration and lowering the temp by about a degree (no more than two degrees). This will increase the amount of available oxygen and the bug population will recover more quickly reducing toxic ammona and nitrites. If you have plants in the tank, leave the light on until the problem is solved. Cut back drastically on feeding.

I'm only guessing on the problem based on the info given. You should test your water and confirm the presence of high ammonia/nitrites to confirm. If it is what I suspect, do small water changes only.

Is there a reason why you cant use water from your well?

I can't use my well water because it has so much sulfer in it. When you turn on the hot water it smells like nasty rotten eggs. I had a water technician come out and test my water and he said i had alot of chemicals in my water. (not to mention I'm near a nasty lake and my well is lower then the lake) When i went to my lfs he told me not to use the water. But everything is ok now. I only had two fish die on me. I was kinda sad  but i'm over it now. thanks for the help though I'll remember it for next time.
