Ammonia toxicity?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I never said none, just not vigilant. :) Glad to hear not easily offended. allot of times giving advise and trying to help becomes a personnel attack to the OP, and that is just not the case. your honesty is much appreciated.
I feel like you can't get good, accurate help if you're not going to be honest. No point in pretending I take perfect care of my tank when I don't, I won't get the most accurate advice and opinions that way. I'm going to keep up the water changes daily and see if he improves at all in the next couple of days.

unless you have introduced some thing new to the tank, I think that is the best course of action.

I don't know anything about ammonia toxicity and gars, but it looks like it has a broken back. If your tank is ridiculously over filtered and you don't do frequent wc, you still shouldn't have any ammonia, just an excess of nitrate. Perhaps it spooked itself and slammed into the side, gar are prone to vertebral injuries in an aquarium. Is that gar really 8 years old? Looks like a wee baby! What does it eat? Looks kind of skinny.
