I WANNA KNOW THAT ALSO

Every time you feed your fish, waste is produced. Whether it goes uneaten or comes out as crap, it is waste. This waste is producing ammonia. The ammonia is converted by bacteria into nitrites over a couple of weeks time. Nitrite is then converted into nitrate by bacteria. This takes a month or two. You can use ammonia remover to help control the problem, but the only way to truly remove the waste is by siphoning the gravel or bottom of your tank with a hose. Look at it like this, imagine if your dog gets all dirty and smelly. You can put cologne on it and your dog won't smell. Is your dog still dirty? Yes it is, and the only way to get it clean is to wash it. Same goes for your tank. When you siphon water out you are doing a water change, so take out about half the water while you clean it and then replace with clean water. You have now adjusted your nitrite, etc.
