Amohilophus Labiatus/Sagittae

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes the 125 is for a pair of Amphilophus (whichever I end up getting) and the plan is to end up with a pair in there and that's it. I have been considering the barred Midas but really like the darker orange color. Just feel like I may be waiting forever if I don't decide on something else
Unless you have a dna testing kit, your properly going to struggle to tell the difference between a sagittae or citrinellus, so I would go for a sagittae.

So you would say they are more similar to a citrinellus than labiatus? Will they get the nuchal hump as well?

Jeff has been out of town and just got back this week. I'm pretty certain he has breeding pairs of most of the different amphilophus that he's imported over the years and grows out spawns all the time. If you don't go for the sagittae (which I think are cool fish and would get some myself if I had the room), its only a matter of time until he has more available.

Good man, taking proper care of the fish from the beginning. I don't want to see you 6 months from now asking if you can add a flowerhorn! lol

Thanks; maybe I will hold out a little longer than

Midas found there way into lake Xiloa and evolved into sagittae in a very short space of time. Unless you're a expert you will not be able to tell the difference
