Amount of Blackworms

Was wondering if anyone has an idea roughly about how many blackworms my 4.5" retic can consume in one eating session before being full. I've been feeding about 4-5 times a day if possible. I know all rays are pigs and will eat all day lol but just wondering out of curiosity as I'm trying to fatten him up a bit.
 
Feed him as much as he will eat. Will he not eat chopped prepared foods like, earthworms, tilapia, market shrimp?

yea I've been feeding as often as I'm home was just wondering how many before belly is full. I have tried ghost shrimp and well as frozen blood worms showed no interest. Not sure where i can find earthworms...market shrimp i have not tried yet either.
 
But from all my research i've read that black worms seems to be the way to go when needing to fatten them up as pups but long term i know it isn't ideal.
 
Try red wigglers from Walmart. Chop them into 1/2" pieces feed his as much as he will eat. Don't leave any waste in there! Black worms are good but expensive! Finely chopped tilapia works well too! you will have to keep trying it... tell he accepts it.

yea well they aren't bad in NYC i get a portion for 2 bucks and I've been buying 2 per week some do get eaten by my silver dollars tho. I will give Walmart a try but not sure we have a section here in the 5 boroughs that sell those.
 
lol wow yea probably the same. The problem is i can only put so much in at once or the silver dollars with eat whatever the ray doesn't have under him so i give say 20 at a time for about 5 minutes about 4-5 times per day or as often as i can.
 
When I fed black worms to my retic pair, when they were younger and only accepted blackworms, I went through a pound every week, I also have a Niger in with them that has an apatite for black worms! I bought black worms by the pound every week and it did get expensive quick! If your black worm portions are anything like the portions at the store i work at, I would say I used around 9 -12 portions a night.

yea that's ALOT I didn't think to mention in my earlier posts although i should have my friend works at the LFS and the only reason I mention this is because when I purchase I portion he actually hooks me up with about 2-3 sometimes more. So id say my retic is eating about 4-5 portions a week, I feed as much and as often as I can and she always eats except after several minutes of munching and I assume its because she is full. Anyone think she should be consuming more?
