  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes do not give up! I am doing the same thing with newly acquired bds. Retics are the hardest to get to eat or break from blackworms!

aright thanks guys will keep trying should I try tilapia in the meantime or stick with the shrimp

Try any and all! Tilapia works well if you can cut it into small slivers. Just make sure whatever you feed doesn't get left in tank! Also try.feeding late at night. Like 12am with really dim light. Your eyes will adjust after 5-10 minutes. It takes some serious devotion to keep rays! Keep us updated!

yes tilapia is next on the list. Yep i always through some worms in right before i go to bed as i shut all lights off. Your right it is tough i kept a retic back in 2011 for 9 months and we had a storm lost power and unfortunately eventually lost the ray. But i enjoy keeping rays and don't mind the work the comes with it.

they can go for quite a while without food. just keep offering it the new foods until it gets thin again. then bulk up on blackworms for a week. i didn't notice mine wasn't getting food in the big tank until i saw the hips pokin out like little mountains. she bulked right back up in about a week on blackworms.

GREAT NEWS after not feeding for 3 days I threw some market shrimp in and she jumped right on them and ate them all. Thanks to everyone for the help. Also was wondering if I should still offer black worms a few times per week

That's awesome don't offer black worms use earth worms or night crawlers instead a few times a week to promote color. Glad all went well for you!
