and the amount of plants you have. more plants = more co2 used meaning more you have to add.

And also, depending on the plants, some plants have a faster uptake than others as well. So to give perfect advice, it's impossible. Each tank is different. The guys on here gave great advice for getting you started, now all you have to do is tweak it in for your particular tank. :)

Oh, and I'm not sure if I mentioned, my target levels for CO2 is 35-50ppm on all my tanks.

I target 50-70 ppm CO2 in my tanks, but as Wolf said, to each his own, and to each tank, a different amount.

the bottom is enhanced with Dupla Root. Nothing ferts aded, bit afraid of algeas in the beginning. There are 4 x 80 watt T5 above it, 2 purple, 1 white and 1 yellow. The livestock is 6 x cambarellus patzcruensis. More livestock is coming in the future.

550 liter = 145.294 gallon [US, liquid]

For lighting, you are running just above 1w/g. This is low lighting, and shouldn't have algae problems or need CO2. You have a total of 160W lighting on a 145G tank. The other 2 bulbs sound like actinic bulbs, and are mainly used in SW tanks for corals, etc. The only good they do in FW tanks is enhance fish colors. They don't help in plant growth.

There is 320 watt above the tank. The two purple ones are especially for plants. The tank is now covered algea, al plants grow like hell, but there is algea everywhere. Wood, plants, rocks, background, even the crayfish are covered in algea. i changed a bit in the lighting time, some less co2 and took the bristlenosses out of quarantaine.

What bulbs are the purple ones? What's the k rating? The only purplish bulbs I've seen are actinic, which are not plant bulbs.
