Hello so I am trying to figure out just how much k1 I need for a moving bed filter and the conversions seem to be contradicted them selfs. The compartment will be a 18Lx18Wx12D sectioned of compartment in a 40 gallon breeder. square feet equals 2.25 I know that. one site is telling me times that times the height to get the cubic foot which equals 27 cubic feet does not seem right there. I tried it another way doing it by gallons and that compartment will be 17 u.s gallons which equals 2.27 liquid cubic feet here are the two charts.
http://www.metric-conversions.org/volume/us-liquid-gallons-to-cubic-feet.htm
https://www.calculatorpro.com/calculator/square-feet-to-cubic-feet-calculator/

and then I will be using 60% of the total number to actualy use for K1. Any thoughts on this I am trying to figure out what I need to order it. And also how much it is going to be in volume so I can order the appropriate size air pump which will be 1 liter per minuter per liter of k1 thanks guys and gals.

please move it needed not sure if this goes here or in the d.i.y thanks

google “k1 calculator” and you’ll get to diy fishkeepers calculator that provides the amount based on volume of your tank. There are other calculators that recommend volume based on the mass of fish kept and the amount of protein fed each day.
