So i know by rule of thumb they say you should have 1-1.75 lbs of live rock gallon of water. Is that still the case in you are also using live sand?

Well im either going to be using a 90 gallon, 150, or a 210 gallon. So it kind depends on how much money im going to have to spend on live rock.

i just did some quick reading on a pure SW forum...it seems that some people prefer using less live rock(0.5-1/gallon), which is fine if the rock is porous enough

really it depends on dimmensions because a high tank is gonna demand the same amount of a tank that isnt high but holds the same amount of gravel, I would just say buy in small increments

i'd say the actual amount depends a lot on stocking, quality of rock, flow, and what else your using as filtration (such as a skimmer)
