hi guys....i was more thinking about some colourfull poison arrow frogs... in combination with some colourfull killi fishes... the frogs don't really go into the water...and killi fishes don't need an big aqaurium....so a small colourfull setting(tank) is possible! cheers

A good combination if you would like a species with fairly interesting colouration and behaviour IMO, is the mossy frog. They are arboreal and semi aquatic.
Newts are temperate to sub-tropical. Do not tropical fish them. Native cold water stuff could do fine though, but don't forget size differences.
+1 on the mossy frogs. The tank will have to be deep enough that the fish have space so you will need frogs that use land as well as good swimmers. I was told darts can swim but arnt good at it and can still drown if its too deep and can't get back up on the banks. Plus for small frogs the fish might go after them. What about bull frogs or African pixi? The African can get up to 10 inches and are good swimmers and also use the land.
