Here are what mine looked like when I had the trio. Top fish is the one Im trying to grow out in the 300. Middle fish with merging stripes is the dominate fish. Fish in lower right is the one I rehomed to Jexnell Jexnell

This is when the dominate Hoga was showing really good color... now it just looks pink with faint stripes.

I have posted this before that in my area there was a different looking Hoga available for a while. In fact if you look at on-line videos of "Hulk" the Hoga owned by Forrest and his parent Hoga owned by Shawn A. you will see a very yellow/golden fish in comparison to what is on the market now. My Hoga look a lot more pink or red towards the head with a hint of golden/yellow toward the top.

The yellow was mostly in their faces, and Forrest's seemed to have lightened up with age.

"HULK" The Hogaboomorum

Been a while since I've posted any pics of this guy so figured we'd get some updated pics up of this beast. He's about 11 1/4" now and about 6" tall now and is getting absolutely massive lately. Here you go..

But the parents could have certainly been collected in a different location than these currents ones, which would account for slightly different color morphs.

I believe this was the papa to 'Hulk'. If not I do know it was the line of Hoga that were in my area that 'madness' or Shawn A. used to have in my area. Very big, bulky amphs with nuchal humps and very golden/yellow. I missed out on getting any from this line.

My Hoga the day I got him from DMD123 DMD123 , he measured out right at eight inches.
A few days later, has healed up nicely.

Lovely fish. it still won't let me says the update file does not have an allowed extension
 
Finally sussed it ? this is my male preety agressive but very bold and begs for food all day. Had to remove a sailfin plec at 13 inches which he just started to attack

Nathan1989 Nathan1989 , nice! Good looking Hoga. Yours looks like it will show some nuchal hump. Mine are either late bloomers or really wont show hump.
