Amphilophus lyonsi and or Parachromis dovii

I loved my first and only Dovii. She was 5" and starting to really color up with Gold body and Blue fins.

"Reality" I want a community cichlid tank with beautiful colors and fins. She was not the biggest but she terrorized my whole tank and all the fins were ripped. My community became ugly, torn, and tattered looking so I took her to LFS. Dovii are only good alone and I don't want to dedicate 1 tank to 1 fish.

Definently a no go. Lyonsi are one of the smaller and less agressive Amphilophus and won't hange with Dovii of the same size for long. Especially if pairs start to form. Honestly I would just stay with the Lyonsi. You have a rare fish that is indangered in it's natural habitat and more room to work with.
