Amphilophus Lyonsi

I have 5 lysonsi right now(6-7inches) 3 in a 125 with veija regani and a breeding pair in a 150 with a trio of chocalates and t passiones,even when they breed and have fry they are not overly aggressive,a little chasing but thats about it,get the lysonsi you wont be dissapointed.

Huh neat looking fish, kind of looks like what you'd get from cross breeding a trimac with a bluegill. I assume the male is the one that is a bit greener in color?
 
Lyonsi are a better idea than trimac for sure. As for how many, I personally would get a small group of them and eventually whittle down. A pair might do well alone, or depending on how they act, might be able to keep 2 of the non-paired individuals with them to keep pair bond strong. Though with a gar that might be a lot of bio-load eventually.
