afew weeks ago i was given a fish witch i thought might be a festae but ive been told hes a Amphilophus sp "Red Isletas"

im having trouble in finding info on him as well could any one tell me how big hell get hes about 10inch at the moment

Nice fish. Looks more humble than most of the barred amphilophus I've seen. Looks like he has that lost/confused blood parrot look to him . . .

Thanks.Yeah he eats well and is very agressive for his size!

A little update:

I moved the red isletas to a tank next to a male midas and it's stripes became very strong. It's been about an week and it's now laying eggs on the glass closest to the midas.

They guy that's getting her all excited. No plans of breeding them though.
